Empire Marina Bobbin Head's Boat Show

During the Boat Show, BHCC will be hosting a special Technical Presentation, presented by John Lawler, Empire Marina Director:

"Developing Good Boating Routines and Handling Tips"

How do you feel rounding the final bend in the creek heading home to Empire Marina only to be greeted with the carpark flags flapping wildly? If like most of us you start to feel a little (maybe a lot) nervous about berthing, you switch on your concentration and hope your crew knows what to do in breezy or less than ideal conditions.

BHCC members, Empire Marina members and guests are invited to a presentation on boat handling tips and developing good routines presented by John Lawler, Empire Marina Director. John has had a lifetime of professional experience in the boating industry including more than 15 years as a superyacht captain, represented Australia in ocean sail events and competed in 8 Sydney to Hobart races.

He is firm believer in “routines” for skipper and crew. Come and hear him share some of his knowledge and ideas to help you improve your confidence and make your boating safer and more enjoyable.

There will be plenty of opportunities for questions during and after the presentation.

"Sausage Sizzle for a Drizzle"

BHCC will also be hosting a "Sausage Sizzle for a Drizzle" to raise much needed funds for our drought effected farmers. If you would like to volunteer on Sunday 9 September between 10 am and 2 pm please also RSVP below.
